When your baby is hungry, every second feels long. So here is exactly how long the wait is.

A portable bottle warmer like the Stenviax Bottle Warmer Pro turns a cold feed into a warm one in a little over a minute, with every figure measured and stated below.

How long does a portable bottle warmer take to warm milk?

About 70 seconds for 4 oz of breast milk to reach 98 °F, measured from refrigerator temperature at a full charge.

The milk goes straight into the warmer's 17 oz / 500 ml chamber of food-grade 316L stainless steel, heated by a 120 W element. It warms there, then pours into your baby's bottle.

The warmer beeps twice when it reaches your setting, so there is no clock to watch.

How long does it take to warm water for formula?

About 2 minutes for 6 oz of water to reach 110 °F, measured from refrigerator temperature at a full charge.

Choose from four water settings: 98, 104, 110 or 122 °F. Then follow the instructions on your formula. Our formula feeding on the go story covers the rest.

The measured times are for 98 °F milk, close to body temperature, and 110 °F water.

What changes the warming time?

Three things move it:

  • Starting temperature. Milk straight from the refrigerator has further to go.
  • Amount. More liquid takes longer to warm than less.
  • Setting. A higher target, such as 122 °F water, takes longer to reach than a lower one.

Your bottle is not on the list. The feed warms in the chamber and is poured afterwards, so the bottle's brand, shape and material play no part.

How do you get the best from every warm?

  1. Shake stored milk before heating

Nutrients in stored milk settle. A quick shake spreads them evenly before the milk goes into the chamber.

  2. Leave the warmer standing still

Moving it mid-cycle can shift the liquid off the sensor and show E2. Left still, it runs straight through to your setting.

  3. Warm the amount your baby will take

A single feed warms sooner than a larger batch, and the CDC says to use warmed breast milk within 2 hours.

  4. Switch it off once the feed is warm

The manual recommends turning it off rather than leaving it holding temperature, so each charge goes further.

How long does the battery take to charge?

On the 45 W adapter and braided USB-C cable in the box, the 14,000 mAh battery goes from empty to full in about 50 minutes. Charge it fully before you unplug it.

If the battery is ever completely flat, charge it for 30 minutes before switching it on. After that it can charge and heat at the same time.
